Senior Technical Business Analyst

As a Stable Kernel Senior Technical Business Analyst, your primary goal is to effectively communicate our clients’ requirements to our development team and ensure these projects meet our clients’ business goals. Your special blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills allow you to effectively work with our clients’ product owners to define the “why” and “how” behind some of their most innovative projects, including all aspects of building and support. 

You will report to the Director of Client Experience and work closely with our engineers, sales team, and other colleagues across the company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing software solutions for our clients, working equally well in a collaborative team environment and individually. Managing internal and external dependencies with partners and representing the Stable Kernel team when meeting with partners.
  • Communicating effectively with team members and business stakeholders.
  • Leveraging system expertise to support and troubleshoot moderately complex issues, finding and implementing scalable solutions to lower the support burden for the team over time.
  • Creating, implementing, documenting, and improving processes, managing rollouts, and communicating with internal and external help desks.
  • Gathering detailed technical and business requirements, and translating them into technical specifications for user stories and acceptance criteria according to agile methodology
  • Over time, becoming the functional/system subject-matter expert for the development team.
  • Solving complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Specifying designs, documents, and testing computer programs with minimal direction while also providing direction of programming work to other business analysts and systems analysts.
  • Using SQL and other statistical tools to identify trends, troubleshoot systems, and create reports.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • The ability to thrive in a hybrid environment
  • A bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
  • 5-8 years of experience as an analyst
  • Experience working in a consulting or professional services organization
  • Experience in technical business analysis in a related industry
  • Experience leading significant system or platform implementations
  • Experience in driving teams and stakeholders to decisions  
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a notable ability to translate highly technical concepts to business applications and vice versa
  • Experience analyzing existing data structures
  • Capability with extracting requirements from various sources to write stories for new features
  • A methodical, investigative, and inquisitive mind
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with marketing technologies and customer data platforms such as mParticle, Salesforce, Hubspot, or MoEngage
  • Capable of writing queries in both relational and non-relational databases (SQL and DynamoDB)
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Amplitude, Tableau, or Google Analytics
  • Strong interpersonal, team collaboration, and consulting skills
  • Pursues continuous improvement and exhibits a personal drive for excellence
  • Willingness and ability to participate in minimal travel for select company/client events.

Nice to Haves:

  • Knowledge of Postman and DataDog
  • Ability to read and understand GoLang
  • Familiarity with marketing to customers
  • Previous experience as an analyst on a backend software development team is especially desirable

Minimum base salary: $110,000
